Why Import Egyptian Pomegranates?

Answers to common questions from international fruit buyers regarding our Wonderful variety.

Why is the Egyptian Wonderful variety superior?

The Egyptian Wonderful pomegranate is globally renowned for its exceptional size and cosmetic quality. Grown in the sunny Upper Egypt and Nile Delta regions, it develops a thick, glossy red skin that travels well, and large, deep-red arils with a high juice content and perfect sweet-sour balance.

What quality standards do your pomegranates meet?

Our pomegranates are GlobalG.A.P and ISO 9001 certified. We adhere to strict 'Class 1' export standards, ensuring fruit is free from sunscald, cracks, and pests. We use precise optical sorting to guarantee uniform color and weight for premium retail markets.

What are your minimum order quantities?

We accommodate flexible orders from 1-ton air freight trials to full 40ft reefer containers (approx. 18-20 tons). We offer mixed pallets with different counts (e.g., sizes 6-9) to help you meet various market demands in a single shipment.

Egyptian Pomegranate Export FAQ

Technical details for international importers.

What is the standard packaging for pomegranates?

The industry standard for retail is the 4.5kg or 5kg Open Top Carton, typically holding counts of 9, 10, or 12 fruits. We also offer plastic trays and larger 15kg bulk cartons for processing or wholesale markets.

How many cartons fit in a container?

A standard 40ft High Cube reefer holds approximately 3,400 to 4,000 cartons (4.5kg) depending on pallet configuration. The total net weight is usually around 18-20 tons.

Do you supply pomegranate arils (seeds)?

While our main focus is fresh whole fruit, we can supply fresh or frozen pomegranate arils (IQF) for industrial buyers upon request.

What is the difference between Wonderful and Baladi varieties?
Wonderful is the primary export variety—large, red, and tart-sweet. Baladi is a local variety that is sweeter but has a lighter skin color and softer seeds, often preferred for processing or juice.
