Why Import Egyptian Grapefruit?

Answers to common questions from international citrus buyers regarding our Red and White varieties.

Why is Egyptian Star Ruby Grapefruit preferred?

Egyptian Star Ruby is famous for its intense internal pigmentation (highest lycopene content) and thin skin. Grown in the Nile Delta's sandy-clay soil, it develops a deep red flesh color and a perfect sugar-to-acid ratio, making it sweeter than competitors' varieties from other Mediterranean regions.

What quality standards do your grapefruits meet?

Our grapefruit is GlobalG.A.P and ISO 9001 certified. We adhere to strict 'Class 1' export standards, ensuring fruit is free from skin defects (scars/thrip marks) and degreened naturally if required. We guarantee full traceability from the orchard to the port.

What are your minimum order quantities?

We accommodate flexible orders from 1-ton air freight trials to full 40ft reefer containers (approx. 24 tons / 1,600 cartons). We offer mixed containers (Grapefruit + Oranges) to help importers manage inventory efficiently.

Our Farm-to-Port Grapefruit Export Process

Ensuring premium condition and extended shelf life.

Farming & Cultivation

Cultivated in protected groves to prevent wind scarring. We use specific irrigation techniques to enhance the red pigmentation (lycopene) inside the fruit.

Harvesting & Collection

Hand-picked carefully using clippers to prevent oleocellosis (oil spotting). Fruit is shaded immediately after harvest to maintain internal temperature.

Quality Control & Processing

Washed, fungicidal treated (IMZ/TBZ), and waxed to prevent weight loss. Automated optical sorting ensures uniform color and size (counts 30-60).

Packaging & Shipping

Packed in 15kg Open Top cartons for display or Telescopic cartons for long transit. Shipped at approx. 10-12°C to prevent chilling injury.
